What’s it like to have a pot shop?

What’s it like to own a pot shop?

We get asked all the time.

Some people think it’s just like the liquor store. Some people think it’s just like oldschool dispensaries. Some people picture Amsterdam and the stuff legends are made of.

In reality, it’s more like hanging out with friends, giving advice and making people happy.

Every store is different, but the reason we wanted to open a pot shop – aside from the obvious love of cannabis – is that we wanted a shop for people like us.

There are a lot of shops out there, and we like to think there’s a shop for everyone. We wanted a place where it felt comfortable. We wanted a place where it was easy to ask questions and talk about cannabis in a way that felt natural and chill. We really enjoy those conversations. And we wanted to open a shop in our neighbourhood, for our neighbourhood.

Selling cannabis is different than most people think. In these 3 short years since legalization, people are just starting to learn about cannabis. We joke with people all the time that it was so much easier when you just got what “your guy” gave you. (I know, I know! It sounds sexist. While there are a lot of women in the legacy market, it’s just that we hear “My guy has…” and “My guy said…” etc ALL THE TIME!)

Now the menu is extensive and the variety of products ever-growing.

It’s a lot like visiting a candy shop, so many choices, so many amazing products. It takes a good budtender to help find the right product.

Whether it’s something to smoke, something to eat, drink, infuse, indulge or share, we have it in store, and we enjoy finding just the right fit.

We love being at the shop. It’s not just a shop, it’s part of the community. There’s never a silly question. You’re never bothering us. You’re never wasting anyone’s time. Helping you understand cannabis consumption and understanding all these new products on the licensed market is why we’re here, so come in and see us, we love to talk pot!

But first...
