Yup. Cannabis delivery to your front door in Ontario!
Check with your local store – at K’s Pot Shop we do delivery! We have done cannabis delivery since cannabis regulations permitted it. If you’ve never ordered for delivery, let us run you through it:
Check the menu
Cannabis delivery offers the same options as in-store shopping. The store menu is online, and if you’ve ever shopped online, you’ve got this. You’ll need to be 19+ just to get to the menu – you need to be legal age just to access a cannabis website.
(Side note: Do you know what happens if you say no to our age gate? LOL, if you don’t, you may want to go check.)
Tour the menu. Pick what you want. Put it in the cart. Get ready to check out.
Delivery charges
Some stores charge to deliver. We don’t charge for local deliveries, and we have a nominal $5 fee for deliveries under $200 if you live basically more than 10km from the store. We also don’t have a minimum order, but again, some stores do, so check what you’re ordering. Stores set their own fees and boundaries.
When will you get here?
We deliver when we can – it’s not like pizza, there is no 30-minute guarantee. If you’re tight on time, call and let us know. If you want a specific delivery window we can accommodate it. We usually go out two to three times a day for rounds of deliveries.
If you order late you may not get same-day service. All deliveries must legally be completed by 11pm and cannot be delivered before 9am. Delivery can only be completed during the regulated hours of 9am and 11pm.
If you have any special instructions, just put them in the order. Don’t want us to knock and rouse the barking dogs? Just tell us. Want us to text a few minutes ahead of arrival? Let us know and we’ll do that.
What if I need help ordering?
Shopping from home should be no different than shopping in-store. Except more convenient. While you won’t get to check out all the cool stuff we’ve collected in the shop, you will get every bit of the benefit of our experience and product knowledge. Just call! 416-406-5329. We are always happy to walk you through selection and variety. We can help you figure out what you want and explain anything you want to know. Also we all really like to talk about weed, so you’re never bothering us.
Time to pay up
Checking out is simple, just follow the prompts. You don’t have to have cannabis delivered to your home address – have it delivered to wherever you are, at your friend’s house, at work, at the Airb’n’b, at the restaurant, even to your car at the curb. That last one is called Curbside Ordering, but it’s the same thing. Don’t want to park and run in? We’ll run it out to you!
Prepayment is an absolute must. We are not allowed to leave the store with unpaid products. You can’t do cash at the door, like you did with your dealer, but then again, my dealer never took credit cards!
If you have any concerns or questions about payment methods just call the store.
What we can’t do
Delivery is convenient and easy, but there are a few rules:
The person who places the order has to be there to receive the order.
Deliveries cannot be left in a mailbox or with a friend or on the back deck. You must receive them directly.
When the delivery arrives, you will need to show government issued ID and your credit card for verification.
Why can’t we leave your order when so many other deliveries are done that way? As much as we like convenience and value contactless transactions, it’s a regulation and not just our policy. Can you imagine how many minors would be getting mailbox deliveries and how excited porch pirates would be?!
Verification is very important for us. You may even be asked to sign to confirm receipt of your delivery.
Come to the front door. If you live in a building or multi-plex it’s lobby service only at our shop, we don’t come in, up or around back. Some stores have car service where drivers don’t get out and you come to the car.
What can I order?
You can order anything we sell in the store – any kind of cannabis product and accessory can be delivered. The only limit is the regulation of a 30-gram maximum purchase that’s in the cannabis regulations. You cannot order more than 30 grams of product.
All cannabis products – whether THC or CBD – have a “conversion to flower” equivalent. It’s easy to identify when you’ve hit 30 grams of cannabis in flower format – an ounce plus 2 grams. But it’s not so straight forward for drinks, capsules, edibles, concentrates and vapes. As an example, drinks – regardless of amount of THC or CBD in them – average out to the equivalent of 5.1 grams of flower while a gram of hash works out to an equivalent of 4 grams of flower and a pack of chocolate edibles works out to .67 grams of flower. But don’t worry about any of that, the website will do the tallying for you and let you know if you go over.
Why delivery?
It took a little while for the Ontario recreational cannabis market to be permitted delivery, but with the efforts to broaden access to cannabis –and take marketshare from the illicit market – delivery was the right move. It was March 2020 when stay-at-home orders were put into place and cannabis shops were closing with the rest of retail; but nobody was going to accept cannabis shops closing now that we finally had legal access. Cannabis delivery was made available on a temporary basis – and never stopped! Towards the end of 2021 the province finally decided to make delivery permanent.
We still want you coming into the shop, but when you need us, we’ll bring the store to you!
